Enhancing sport and physical activity provision within South-West Edinburgh

About

Established in April 2013 (launched in January 2014), the South-West Edinburgh Community Sport Hub is part of a national project to raise the capacity of sport in Scotland. Community Sport Hubs, sportscotland's contribution to the Scottish Government's 2014 legacy plan, aim to increase the number of people of all ages participating in sport and physical activity in local communities across Scotland.

The geographical areas included in the Hub's remit are areas such as Balerno, Currie, Juniper Green, Wester Hailes, Sighthill and Ratho, as well Heriot-Watt University's Riccarton campus which also includes Scotland's Sport Performance Centre, Oriam.

Since the establishment of the CSH, there has been a wide range of impacts on the local community. Along with our 'Hub Impacts' article, the photos, video and information below give you an idea some of the key areas of work that the Hub has helped to shape, influence and deliver within South-West Edinburgh, as well as proving a basic understanding of some of the Hub's key events.
